Popular “Days of Our Lives” star Kate Mansi airs as Abby for the last time on June 24, but that doesn’t mean she won’t be one busy lady. As a matter of fact, since leaving the DAYS set in December, she’s hardly had a rest.
She recently finished the feature film “Boyfriend Killer” and let everyone know it via social media this week.
And that’s a wrap for crazy eyes Krystal Kellers #boyfriendkiller ??
Can’t wait for you all to… https://t.co/nzscjdBozl— Kate Mansi (@KateMansi) May 16, 2016
“Boyfriend Killer” is just one of several Mansi (Abigail Deveraux) projects, and also stars Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin Reed). The movie centers on Mansi’s character, Krystal, whose boyfriend dies in a car accident. When her mother discovers texts in which Krystal asks him to kill her ex-boyfriend, she becomes suspicious. Then…well, you’ll have to see the movie later this year!
Another upcoming project Mansi is titled “Muse.” According to IMDB, the film is about “a struggling painter’s life…changed forever when he meets a Leannán Sí–a mythical Irish muse who takes an artist as a lover, inspires him, and kills anyone that threatens him.” Sounds creepy to us! Mansi’s character is identified only as “Maria.”
All this dark material should be a cake walk for the talented Mansi. During her last few months on DAYS, she’s been nearly set on fire, had her newborn son taken from her, moved into a mansion that looks about as inviting as the Bates Motel, taken understandable but gruesome revenge on Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), and been committed to a mental institution. Anyone would need some psychological R&R after all that trauma!
Mansi joined DAYS as Abigail Deveraux in 2011. She quickly gained an ardent fan base with her rich, textured performance. She took the daughter of Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) from from a wild teenager to a protective mother. Mansi’s devoted fans even gave her portrayal of the mentally unstable, institutionalized Abby a social media nickname, “CrayAbby.”
It’s not going to be easy to say goodbye to Mansi, but we can take comfort in the fact that on soaps, the door is always open for a return!
