With Kate Mansi’s recent Emmy nomination, Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fans have been reminiscing about her run as Abigail.
It was Mansi’s Abigail that first struck chemistry gold with Billy Flynn’s Chad. The pair were instantly in sync and quickly emerged as a Salem supercouple. Hence, Days of Our Lives fans were heartbroken when Mansi decided to leave the soap.
While many viewers have taken to her replacement, Marci Miller, some can’t stop hoping that Mansi will come back to the show. Soap Hub posed an interesting question: If Mansi were to return, should it be as Abby or someone else. Over 11,000 of you weighed in on the subject.
Abby, She Was the Best
Kate Mansi fans spoke out in droves, and 77% of you would love to see her come back… as Abby. In your book, she was the best Abby and her connection with Miller’s Chad was off the charts.
There was an unspoken passion between the two characters, as well as a sweet friendship and powerful love. They had that soulmate “It” factor.

If not Abby, No One
While 16% of you would welcome Mansi back, if she’s not going to play Abby you would prefer she stay away. You feel it would be totally weird and confusing seeing her in another role. Plus, it would totally undermine Miller’s stint as Abby and the hard work she’s put in to develop her own connection with Flynn’s Chad.
Just Bring Her Back
Some 6% of you are open to Mansi returning as anyone, as long as she comes back to DAYS. You’ve missed her immensely since she departed the show. She was your favorite actress on the soap.
You’ve long admired her talent, and think the show would be wise to re-sign her as quickly as possible. In fact, you’re surprised another soap hasn’t scooped her up already.
Up in the Air
A teensy 1% of you are up in the air about a Kate Mansi return. While you loved her work when she was playing Abby, you’ve taken a major liking to her successor, Marci Miller. Having Mansi resurface would be just plain awkward and weird.
