After over three decades in the daytime drama community, Kassie DePaiva understands the business and has huge respect for the fans who help keep the soaps on the air all these years — but that doesn’t make it any easier to say goodbye. Still, that is exactly what she is about to say to Days of our Lives and her character Eve.
Kassie DePaiva Bids Farewell
The actress took to Twitter to reveal her emotions about what it’s like to say goodbye to this latest daytime role, which she had played to the hilt on and off since 2014 — whether Eve was in a tender romance or her favorite thing in the world — seeking revenge. Either way, DePaiva always did it with style and grace. She is doing the same with her exit.
“Thank you soap opera fans for all your love and support. On New Year’s Eve, once again, Eve Donovan will leave town after wreaking havoc. I just want to send a big love letter out to all of you that have watched and supported me over the years.”
Filled With Gratitude
Those years have taken the actress from Guiding Light’s Chelsea, to One Life to Live’s Blair (and then taking her over to General Hospital), before her current role. “As you know I love working in Daytime. It has been my honor and pleasure to work on Days of our Lives over the last five years. Eve is an interesting and challenging character to bring to life.
“As you know, actors don’t get to write their own storylines. It is always a challenge and a delight to open the scripts and see where the writers are taking the story.” Needless to say, Eve has run the gamut of emotions over the years — love, loss, betrayal, and everything in between. But the actress has one more wish for fans right now.
“My hope is that you enjoyed the journey because I certainly did. I wish you all a Joyous holiday season. Be kind and loving to all,” she wrote in conclusion. Here’s hoping it won’t be too long before DePaiva is back onscreen where she belongs. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
