Days of our Lives spoilers for Monday, July 21, put Rafe and Tate on the hunt for Holly and Ari, but the girls aren’t just sitting around, being damsels in distress. They have their own escape plan!

Tate (Leo Howard) and Doug (Peyton Meyer) thought they could ransom Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Ari (Marissa Reyes) all by themselves. But since they are both bumbling and out of their depth, that didn’t go well. So now Tate has paired up with Rafe (Galen Gering) to play hero. What neither one realizes is that the girls aren’t holding out for a hero. They’re both smart and competent… and they think they’ve figured out a way out.
Which is good, because Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) is right on the edge of losing her mind. Javi (Al Calderon) tries to comfort her, but there is really nothing he can say until her baby is back home, safe and sound.

A Long Time Ago, We Used to be Friends
While Javi is taking care of family business, Leo (Greg Rikaart) is left to get by with a little help from his friends. What a shame he doesn’t have any. The one person who used to be his BFF, ride or die, Gwen (Emily O’Brien), he managed to drive away by sleeping with her husband. (We blame Gwen for a lot of things, but not that. She was one hundred percent in the right there.)
So when the two cross paths, it’s not exactly a joyful reunion. More like snark. Lots and lots of snark.

Against All Odds
And speaking of snark, that’s where Xander (Paul Telfer) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) are currently. They both know a major secret about the other, and they both want to tell it, without incriminating themselves. This is a very delicate dance. And they seem to be stuck in a holding pattern.
