Judi Evans Health Update: Soap Opera Veteran Faces Blood Clot Surgery

It’s been almost two weeks since Days of Our Lives star Judi Evans took a bad fall while horseback riding. She was admitted to a hospital because of her injuries, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Doctors not only diagnosed Evans with some cracked vertebrae and broken ribs, but they also discovered a blood clot on her lung — unrelated to the fall. Evans’ grandparents had passed away of a similar condition.

Howie Simon, Evans’ publicist, and longtime pal tells Soap Hub that he recently spoke with the Emmy-winner, who is still hospitalized. “[She] was supposed to have surgery on lungs/ribs yesterday but was delayed…,” Simon says. “Their main concern is her lungs and she will be [hospitalized for] a while for recovery especially with the [threat of] COVID and protecting her from pneumonia.”

Krista Tesreau (ex-Mindy, Guiding Light) appeared on a recent Locher Room YouTube reunion with GL co-stars Kim Zimmer (ex-Reva), Michael O’Leary (ex-Rick), Terrell Anthony (ex-Rusty), and Kristi Ferrell (ex-Roxie). During the get-together, Tesreau talked about Evans who played Beth, Mindy’s rival/pal, on GL from 1983-86.

“She’s okay, but she has a cracked vertebra, a lot of broken ribs, and a collapsed lung,” Tesreau said.

“She’s in good spirits,” Alan Locher, creator/host of The Locher Room, added. “Everybody definitely say a prayer for her.” Soap Hub will continue to keep Evans’ fans updated on her condition.
