It was back in 2014, after E.J. DiMera died, that Sami pulled up stakes (meaning she grabbed her kids) and hightailed it out of Salem and off Days of Our Lives. Now rumors are rampant that at least one of those kids — Johnny — may be headed back to town.
It all started when one of the young men who played Johnny back then, Griffin Kunitz (along with his twin brother Aaron), shared an intriguing picture on Instagram.
In it, the young actor can be seen in front of what is unmistakably the DAYS stage door, holding what could be a script. In the caption, he simply wrote, “Hey @nbcdays” — leading many fans to wonder if that means he’s back on the show.
Keep in mind, when Rafe (Galen Gering) was gone from Salem recently, it was because Sami (Alison Sweeney) asked for Rafe’s help with Johnny. Could Rafe be bringing him back to Salem to spend some time together?
The DAYS spoiler site, Days Cafe, implies Johnny’s return and says he’s a chip off the old Stefano block. Could he instead end up being mentored more by his Uncle Stefan (Tyler Christopher), rather than Rafe?
Everyone knows that Stefan feels a hole in his heart ever since he found out that his beloved daughter Charlotte was really his niece.
He is going to be spending time with Chloe’s (Nadia Bjorlin) kids, now that she’s moved in with him, but perhaps the chance to have his nephew close could be even more fulfilling.
Time will tell if this rumor pans out to be fact or fiction, but it certainly does seem plausible. Guess we’ll just have to stay tuned!
