Former Days of our Lives and General Hospital star Jen Lilley is set to appear in a brand new Hallmark film opposite two of her fellow daytime alumni – and she’s reached out to even more in the hopes of drawing attention to a cause near and dear to her heart.
Jen Lilley — Newest Hallmark Offering
Come Saturday, August 21, you’ll be able to see Lilley in a brand new made for Hallmark flick – this one titled Love in the Afternoon.
The film’s plot is as follows: “In order to save her daytime soap drama from cancellation, head writer Maggie must convince Darin, fan-favorite actor and her real-life ex-boyfriend, to return to the show. The show’s producer, Alice, who created the series, wants to retire and hopes to pass the baton to Maggie if the soap can be salvaged.”
The role of Darin will be played by former GH heartthrob Ryan Paevey (ex Nathan West), while soap hopper extraordinaire Linda Dano – best known for her decade-plus run as Felicia Gallant on Another World, and last seen as DAYS’ Vivian Alamain – will helm the Alice character.
Principal photography on Love in the Afternoon will commence in Vancouver, Canada later this month. The project will mark the second onscreen pairing of Lilley and Paevey; they played a couple in Hallmark’s Harvest Love.
All (Hallmark) Hands On Deck
In other news, Lilley has issued a call to several of her Hallmark Channel brethren – many of them former soap stars – asking them to contribute their time, and gorgeous visages, in an effort to promote her Camp Christmas in July fundraiser.
According to the actress, the month-long fundraiser aims to, “[send] 2,021 children in foster care back to school with all the supplies needed for a successful school year.”
Lilley and her husband, Jason Wayne, became foster parents through the organization, Childhelp, and in June 2019, they officially adopted two of their charges.
Below, you’ll find the video posted by Lilley on her Instagram account – which features, former All My Children star Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery), DAYS graduate Trevor Donovan (ex-Jeremy Horton), Paevey, and other “Hallmark Hunks.”
