When she released her new song, Jen Lilley hoped the proceeds would be enough to pay for a young boy’s heart surgery. Watch as he gets the best news ever!
Lilley, who won fans’ hearts by playing Theresa Donovan on Days of Our Lives, released a new tune from her upcoming album with the hope that it would be enough to pay for a boy’s heart surgery.
He’s an 11-year-old named John, who lives in Uganda, Africa and needs the surgery but couldn’t afford it.
She shared that his family makes less than $20 a month, and the young man has a weak heart and needs this life-saving surgery. After learning about this, Lilley dedicated 100% of the initial profits of her single, King of Hearts, to providing John with the procedure.
This week, what she’d hoped for came true… and thanks to everyone who donated her single as well as caring donors, Project Orphans was able to share the news with John that the money needed had been raised.
The excited actress/singer shared a video of John and his mom being told that the funds had been secured and he’d be able to have the surgery. You can see that below.
