It’s a classic Days Of Our Lives trope – young love on the run. Eli’s parents, David and Valerie did it back in the day — although it was more a case of David being on the run from Julie’s version of (s)mothering.
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Bo (Peter Reckell) did it. So did Steve (Stephan Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves)…
And now it’s time for their son, JJ (Casey Moss) to go on the run with Haley (Thia Megia), the woman he loves…we think. Most of it happened between the episodes. They did make out a few times. So there you go.
JJ is helping Haley evade being deported back to China. Does this couple have rooting value? What over 16000 had to say:
They’re great, an enthusiastic 92% of the audience cheers! This is just the kind of storyline DAYS has needed for a long time. A young, upstanding man putting everything on the line to support a spunky, pretty heroine.
This is the perfect set-up for love to bloom, and a couple to root for. JJ and Haley will take on the United States government. And then they’ll tackle the conflicts and challenges of life in Salem.
Bad Start
Are they even a couple, a tiny 8% of you wonder. They’re friends, sure. Yeah, they did make out a couple of times. But, that’s not love, that’s…teenage hormones. JJ and Haley may have been heading towards something, but they’re not even close to being there yet.
It’s hard to root for an insta-couple. We needed more build up, more longing — especially during Haley’s marriage to Tripp (Lucas Adams). Haley and JJ may be hot one day. But, that day is not here yet.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
