Jackée Harry Celebrates First Anniversary on Days of our Lives

There are some actors who come to daytime and make an immediate impression, and that’s certainly been the case with Jackée Harry, whose real estate tycoon Paulina Price has provided plenty of laughs and excitement on Days of our Lives since first joining the show a year ago.

Of course, Harry had some daytime experience before, having played Lily Mason on Another World from 1983-1986. But the Emmy-winning actress is mostly known for her sitcom work, most notably as the feisty Sandra Clark on 227 and Lisa Landry on Sister, Sister.

And even though primetime opportunities continue to come along, such as Harry’s recent roles in For the Love of Jason and Freeform’s upcoming show based on comedian Phoebe Robinson’s book, Everything’s Trash But It’s Okay, Harry is having a ball on DAYS and doesn’t plan on having Paulina exit Salem anytime soon.

In a video that was posted to YouTube, Harry does an interview about her time on the show, and there are plenty of her best scenes, starting when Paulina first walked into the lives—and hearts—of DAYS fans.

“Days of our Lives is one of the many different soaps that my mother used to watch,” she explains, noting she’s been a fan most of her life. Before joining the show, Harry used to post about “crazy Maggie Horton” and when DAYS producers saw this, they asked if she would be interested in joining the show.

“They wrote the part specifically for me, and I like that because it makes me feel important,” Harry said.

She talked about how much she adores working with James Reynolds (Abe Carver) and how amazing everyone treated her on the set.

“Getting back to doing daytime has been a challenge,” she admitted, but she’s enjoying it as much as she did when she first started out and likes playing a character with money. Of course, she’s still hoping to have some scenes with “Crazy Maggie.”

The Days of our Lives Twitter account congratulated Harry on her anniversary and tons of fans were quick to add their love for the actress and her character underneath the post, which also directed people to the video. Here’s to hoping Harry celebrates many, many more anniversaries in the years ahead.
