Kate Mansi is heading back to Salem as Abigail Deveraux DiMera, and her return is sure to shake up Days of Our Lives.
The Daytime Emmy winner – she snagged the Outstanding Supporting Actress trophy in 2017 – was a force to be reckoned with during her five-year stint as Abigail.
She portrayed the character during some memorable highs, emotional lows, and a constant state of turmoil. With the fan favorite heading back to Salem in a few months, things are sure to get intense and interesting.
State of Affairs
During Abigail’s battle with multiple personality disorder, Mansi’s predecessor Marci Miller developed a strong connection with Tyler Christopher that led to the smoldering Gabby and Stefan pairing.
With the undercurrent of that relationship hovering over storyline moving forward, Mansi’s chemistry with Christopher will be put to the test.
It’s critical the two actors not only sustain it, but also take it to the next level. Knowing the two pros, they’ll deliver, as the intensity of the Chad/Abigail/Stefan triangle depends on it.
Chad Fad
Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail have to seriously pull their weight as DAYS’ most promising supercouple. They are the show’s present and, more importantly, future. Hence, the dynamic between Flynn and Mansi has never been more critical or pivotal to the show’s success.
Fortunately, that dynamic has always been powerful and poignant, and it’s a sure bet it will not only continue, but thrive with Mansi back on the canvas as Abigail.
With a Twist of Ben
The timing of Mansi’s return is perfect, now that Robert Scott Wilson is back as the reformed Ben. She played Abigail during the worst of Ben’s reign of terror. The psychopath constantly tormented Abigail, causing her to finally crack and retaliate by trying to burn him alive.
The duo’s complicated and combative relationship will be taken to new heights with Mansi back in the role as her character is forced to constantly interact with the seemingly-healed Ben now that they’re both living in the same small town once again.
