How Days of our Lives Can Survive Victoria Konefal’s Exit

One week, Ciara and Ben were exchanging “I Do’s” and planning a forever together. A few short weeks later, came the news that half of the popular Days of our Lives supercouple, actress Victoria Konefal, is leaving the soap.

What does it all mean for “Cin” and Robert Scott Wilson’s (Ben) future status as a Salem leading man? Fret not, DAYS fans. Here are a few ways Days of our Lives can survive Victoria Konefal’s exit as Ciara.

Days of our Lives: The Write-Off

Think Dante’s General Hospital exit with a twist. Instead of Ben leaving town out of fear and concern that his programming will put Ciara’s life in danger, she comes to the realization that her new husband is a serious threat and decides to split Salem for her own safety.

Knowing she’s the catalyst for Ben to act out violently, Ciara decides to remove herself from the situation, so her husband can get the help he needs. Marlena (Deidre Hall) could work extensively with Ben to deprogram him and bring him back from the dark side while reporting to Ciara, off-camera. Meanwhile, Ben, who’ll need all the support he can get during this trying time, could acquire it from Claire (Isabel Durant), who Ciara makes promise to stand by her man in her absence.

A New Direction

Down, out, and trying to heal mentally, yet again, Ben is in desperate need of a new woman to believe in him. How about sweet Allie (Lindsay Arnold)? She obviously has a penchant for making bad choices, and what could be worse than falling for Ben? The guy’s madly in love with her cousin and a psychological mess. Yet, Allie could find him intriguing and inexplicably be drawn to him. They could start out as friends and eventually develop into something more.

A Happy Return

DAYS is leaving the door open for Konefal, who’s turned Ciara into a strong fiery heroine. It’s the right move, considering her special connection with Wilson. Together the two actors defied the odds, turning “Cin” into a couple you couldn’t help but root for.

DAYS could simply bide its time and wait and see what happens. With any luck, the actress might end up returning to the soap. Then the show’s writers could simply pick up where they left off, penning another front burner storyline for Ciara and Ben, as they find their way back to one another.
