Days of Our Lives (DOOL) star Galen Gering has made a name for himself on the show in the role of Rafe Hernandez, quickly becoming one of the most beloved actors in modern-day Salem.
The character of Rafe was introduced in 2008 as an FBI agent assigned to protect Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) during her stay in the witness protection program. The two later fell in love and eventually married.
Their romance was plagued by heartache when Sami learned that her relationship with EJ DiMera was exposed by Rafe, uncovering his ties to the kidnapping and presumed death of Sami’s daughter Sydney.
Gering was born Galen Laius Gering in Los Angeles, California, to Alan Gering and Michele de Onate. De Onate is a renowned artist on the West Coast. Gering has one older sister named Charissa. But did you know that the handsome actor was also a model during his high school career?
At the age of 18, Gering moved to New York City for a modeling career and during that time, he finished high school through the mail.
He traveled through Europe as a model before attending New York University for a year. He later finished his studies at the University of Miami as a creative writing and film major. He also plays Pro-am beach volleyball.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
