Hattie’s Home! Should Marlena’s Double Stay on Days of Our Lives?

On Days of Our Lives, Sami finally told Belle that Hattie was passing herself off as Marlena.

Roman (Josh Taylor) tried to romance the impostor so that Hattie (Deidre Hall) would divorce John (Drake Hogysten), but allegedly dim bulb Hattie saw through that ruse. Now that Marlena is up and around, there seems to be no more reason for Hattie to remain in Salem.

But should she anyway? Almost 5,000 fans had this to say.

Please go away, 83% of you beg. Pretty please? We know Hattie is supposed to be delightfully frank and no-filter honest, but what she really is, is grating and insufferable.

Those hilarious chats she has with Bonnie (Judi Evans)? They are not hilarious. Her slobbering over Roman? Disgusting. And her wacky antics? Please stop.

What would Hattie even do in Salem? As Bonnie, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), and others have proven, getting a job in Salem is pretty tough for a jailbird. Especially when they have no marketable skills. And, let’s not forget, are very, very annoying.

So, move along, Hattie, nothing to see here. There’s only room for one Doc in this town…

Hattie is a Heavenly Hoot
Please stay a minority 17% beg. Marlena is prim and boring and half-dead. You’re alive – and a laugh a minute! If Hattie can impersonate Marlena – and figure out John and Roman’s scheme – the woman is far from dumb.

She clearly has just never been given the chance to reach her full potential. This could be a great My Fair Lady story, with Hattie as Eliza Doolittle, and Roman as Henry Higgins. Hattie could become another Salem heroine. Heck, look at Ghoul Girl Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) – miracles can happen!

Hattie’s story could be inspirational and aspirational. Plus, it could be really funny. DAYS could use some levity and laughter.
