Former Days of our Lives star Greg Vaughan is enjoying life after Salem in the best way–with a new primetime series.

Vaughan took to social media to let fans know his brand-new series, Queen Sugar, was picked up for a second season before its first season even hit the airwaves.

The series also stars Dondre Whitfield (ex-Terrence, All My Children) and True O’Brien (ex-Paige, DAYS).

“When we saw the first cut from Ava we knew right away that we wanted a second season,” OWN President Erik Logan said in an official statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Vaughan couldn’t contain his excitement about this opportunity and said on his official Twitter how proud he was to be a part of the ensemble cast.

“Tremendously honored and proud to be in the company of such beauty, strength and leadership,” he tweeted.

The series details the lives of the Bordelon siblings as they navigate a recent family tragedy.

Nova (Rutina Wesley), Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner), and Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) play the siblings who must deal with rocky family ties while running a sugarcane farm in the Deep South, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Queen Sugar debuts on Tuesday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 7, at 10 p.m. ET on OWN.

Vaughan departed the role of Eric Brady earlier this year when the character was sent to prison for vehicular manslaughter after driving drunk.

DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Share your thoughts, leave a comment in the section below. Additionally, for more Days of Our Lives’ spoilers updates, recaps, and news, go to Soap Hub’s Facebook fanpage and join the conversation about all your favorite soaps!
