Former “Salem” Soap Star Auditions For Mystery DAYS Role

Another one of those mystery audition videos for Days of Our Lives (DOOL) has popped up, and it could be a very interesting new role.

According to the Jason47 DAYS Website, former soap fave Dahlia Salem (ex-Sofia, Another World; ex-Claire, General Hospital) is sitting at a bar. “Megan” is talking with “Eric” about how her fiance has left her because an affair with her best friend has produced a baby. She’s there to drown her sorrows and “Eric” tries to be kind to her.

But it doesn’t end there — “Eric” reveals that the woman he loves just broke his heart and left town. Keep in mind, DAYS shoots six months ahead.

While Eric (Greg Vaughan) is currently enjoying a new love relationship with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and we can’t imagine Jen leaving town.

Names used in audition scenes are often codenames so that people who see the dialogue can’t leak future story. Also, sometimes the audition scenes are written specifically for the audition to get the flavor of the character and have nothing to do with what is actually being written for the show.

But if this audition is from an upcoming script, and “Eric” is actually code for another character, could it be for Eric Martsolf’s Brady? The character didn’t seem to want to drink.

Also, it hasn’t been revealed how long Jen Lilley’s return as Theresa is going to last — could she be the one who left again and broke his heart?

And then there’s another character who is on the wagon and has often had to deal with heartbreak. Could Megan be a new love interest for Lucas (Bryan Dattilo)?

Does that mean Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) could be leaving town — perhaps to be in that opera in Mexico City? As Soap Hub learns more, we will let you know.
