In the fictional world of Days of Our Lives, Kimberly Brady has just lost her beloved mother Caroline. However, in the real world of actress Patsy Pease, there’s no time for doom and gloom. And that’s because she has a major milestone to celebrate.
Pease was born on July 5, 1956, in Charlotte, North Carolina, which means that she’s turning 63 years old today! After graduating from the North Carolina School of the Arts, Pease played the piano at a supper club in order to raise the money for a one-way bus ticket to New York City. There she hoped to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer.
Pease’s first television role was Cissie Mitchell Sentell a character on the incredibly popular soap opera Search for Tomorrow. However, after only a few years, she opted to quit the role.
Pease moved to Los Angeles in 1981 and soon found herself out of her depth and at an incredibly low point. By some miracle, the Days of Our Lives casting office discovered Pease’s unlisted phone number and asked her to come to the studio for an audition. After four further auditions, Pease was hired to play Kimberly Brady.
Within a few months of joining the show Pease was paired opposite Charles Shaughnessy and the resulting chemistry led to a popular pairing between their characters Kimberly and Shane.
In the 1990s, Pease went public with her experiences of being physically and sexually abused by her mentally ill mother and since that time she has dedicated herself to working with various support groups to help other victims of abuse find inner peace and heal themselves. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
