She is an adorable actress and yet Molly Burnett’s character, Melanie Jonas, left Days of Our Lives. That doesn’t mean that the actress doesn’t have a good reason to celebrate — because she does.
That’s because the actress was born on April 23, 1988, in Littleton, Colorado, which means that she is turning 31 years old today! She is the daughter of Katie and David Burnett and has a younger brother, Will. She grew up in a suburb of Denver.
Burnett had an interest in acting from a very young age and was very involved in theater at Littleton High School. She also performed in theater productions around the Denver area. After graduating with honors, she headed to New York City, where she enrolled at Wagner College, a private liberal arts school on Staten Island.
But she wasn’t meant to stay there and so she put her academic life on hold and moved to Los Angeles and pursue an acting career. Not long after landing in the LA area, she was able to score her first big role — on DAYS — in 2008.
After DAYS, she appeared in Good Luck Charlie, ACME Saturday Night, and CSI: NY. She also had a recurring role on Venice The Series, as well as more guest roles on shows like Zach Stone, Is Gonna Be Famous, Addicts Anonymous, and Major Crimes.
She has continued to do well and subbed for Kirsten Storms as Maxie on General Hospital during one of her breaks, in addition to also appearing in even more primetime shows like True Blood, Longmire, CSI: Cyber, Relationship Status, and so much more.
