It’s looking more and more like Allie is telling the truth on Days of our Lives. Or, rather, that she’s remembering correctly and Tripp (Lucas Adams) really did rape her. He’s Henry’s father at least, right?
Days of our Lives Dilemma
So, if Tripp really did take advantage of a girl too drunk to know where she was, much less give consent, can he ever be redeemed? After all, it’s not as if he were a serial killer, like Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). Tripp committed a much more serious crime! Can he ever be the young, romantic leading man he was when we last saw him with Haley (Thia Megia)?
You Don’t Know Jack
Right now, Jennifer (Cady McClain) is lamenting to JJ (Casey Moss) that she can never forgive Jack (Matthew Ashford) for sleeping with Kate (Lauren Koslow) while she was in a coma. However, almost 30 years ago, she could forgive Jack for raping Kayla (Mary Beth Evans).
Breaking the Law(rence)
Jennifer was a rape victim herself back in the day. Her attacker was Lawrence (Michael Sabatino). He was a bad guy. But then he eventually became a good guy, to the point where Jennifer’s friend, Carly (Crystal Chappell) dumped Bo to be with Lawrence. Sure, he became a bad guy again down the line, but, for a while there, it was Happily Ever After!
Just a Little Abuse
Tripp’s dad, Steve (Stephen Nichols), may not have been a rapist – as far as we know. But he did engage in fun activities with women like breaking into the home and terrorizing a blind Kim (Patsy Pease), as well as kidnapping Hope (Kristian Alfonso), trying her up, and putting her under a pan of what he claimed was face-scarring acid. It turned out to be just water, so, all good, we guess.
All those men were able to overcome the above and become beloved Salem citizens. Tripp should have no problems doing the same, no matter what he’s done. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
