Five Fast Facts About Veteran Soap Star Greg Vaughan

Veteran soap star Greg Vaughan can currently be seen as Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives, but General Hospital fans loved him as Lucky Spencer too. From his roles on shows like Charmed and Queen Sugar to his guest appearances on Baywatch and Buffy the Vampire Slayer — as well as a turn on The Young and the Restless as Diego, Vaughan has had quite the career.

While he’s a veteran of television, Vaughan got his start in modeling and also has worked on movies. From winning a Daytime Emmy Award to the famous actress he’s currently dating, here are five fast facts about the actor.

In The Beginning
Vaughan was born on June 15 in Dallas, Texas and was raised in both Dallas and Fredericksburg, Texas. He graduated from Mesquite High School, where he was both an athlete and involved in theater. When he was just 16, while getting a haircut, he learned about a modeling competition and decided to enter. He didn’t win, but it did spark his interest in the profession.

Model Behavior
Following high school, Vaughan decided to give modeling a shot. He moved to Milan, Italy, where he started modeling for major campaigns such as Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren. After doing that for a number of years, he decided to come back to the U.S. to focus on acting.

He’s Like Buttah
After starting his acting career, Vaughan entered a contest to become the new spokesperson for I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. The contest was created to replace Fabio, who had done it for a number of years. Vaughan won the contest, and it was announced in a ceremony in New York in 2006.

Emmy Winner
Vaughan was cast on Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady in 2012 and went on to win the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2018 for his performance. It was not only his first win but his first nomination.

Getting Personal
Vaughan briefly dated his co-star, Alyssa Milano, while they were both on Charmed. He went on to marry model/actress Touriya Haoud in 2006. They have three sons together — 12-year-old Jathan James, 9-year-old Cavan Thomas, and 7-year-old Landan Reid. However, the couple split in 2014.

He has since been in a relationship with gorgeous actress Angie Harmon (Law & Order, Rizzoli & Isles), who has three daughters. They have been known to refer to themselves as a new version of the Brady Bunch.
