You’ve known Suzanne Rogers as beleaguered heroine Maggie on “Days of Our Lives” for decades. Here are Five Fast Facts you may not have known.
A Star is Born
Rogers was born Suzanne Cecilia Crumpler on July 9, 1943, and grew up in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Her admiration of legendary dancer Ginger Rogers inspired her stage name. She was briefly married to actor Sam Groom, who appeared on several soap operas himself.

At the age of two, Rogers showed an interest in dancing and began lessons. At 17, she moved to New York to pursue a dancing career. It wasn’t long before she joined the famous Radio City Music Hall Rockettes – the youngest performer they ever had. She also appeared in many Broadway musicals, including “Follies”. After appearing on DAYS for a decade, Rogers was forced to leave in 1984 due to her health. A diagnosis of neuro-muscular disease Myasthenia Gravis interfered with her work. When her health improved a year later, she returned to the show and DAYS agreed to write her disease into the show. In remission since 1995, she continues raising money for researching a cure.
