Robin Strasser is best known for her role as Dorian Lord on One Life To Live, but the actress currently stars as Vivian Alamain on Days of Our Lives, but she’s a soap legend and began her daytime career on Another World back in 1964.

The TV, film, and theater actress has also appeared on primetime shows like Murphy Brown and MacGyver, and even other soaps like Passions and All My Children. From where she was born and raised to winning awards, here are five fast facts you need to know about the actress.

In The Beginning…
Strasser was born on May 7 in New York City. She started performing at a young age and got attended NY’s High School of Performing Arts. After graduating, she earned a scholarship to the Yale School of Drama.

Story Behind The Name
Strasser’s middle name is Vee, which means Victory in Europe. She just so happened to be born on the same day Nazi Germany surrendered in World War II and her mother wanted to pay tribute to that.

Founding Member
After graduating from Yale, Strasser began performing in a number of theater productions. Thanks to her love of the stage, Strasser became a founding member of the American Conservatory Theater, which is a nonprofit theater in San Francisco that offers productions and acting school.

Took Home The Gold
Strasser won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series for playing Dorian on One Life to Live. She has also been nominated for the same award three other times.

Getting Personal
Strasser has been married twice, but her first marriage was to actor and playwright Laurence Luckinbill. The couple have two sons together, Nicholas and Ben. She then married actor Richard Hogan, but that marriage only lasted two years.
