Chandler Massey plays Will Horton on Days of Our Lives, a role he has played off and on since 2010. Though Massey’s still in the early stages of his acting career, he’s already managed to have a great deal of success.
Along with his acting career, Massey also loves to play music and travel all over the world. From where he was born and raised to opening up about his weight-loss journey, here are five fast facts about the Days of Our Lives actor.
In The Beginning
Massey was born on September 10 and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. His father, Lewis A. Massey, was the former Secretary of State of Georgia. He graduated from Norcross High School, which is where he first got interested in acting. He moved to Los Angeles and attended UCLA to pursue acting as a career. After stops and starts, he graduated in 2018.
First Television Role
After moving out to Los Angeles to follow his acting dream, Massey snagged his first television role on One Tree Hill in 2009. In the same year, he also guest-starred on both Eastbound & Down and Army Wives. But it was his first contract role as Will on DAYS that changed everything for the young actor.
Groundbreaking Emmy Wins
Massey has been nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards for playing Will. In fact, he won Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series three years in a row (2012, 2013, 2014), making him the first actor to do so as well as the first to win this award for playing a gay character.
Weight Loss Journey
Massey recently shared his emotional weight-loss journey, revealing he’s not only lost 30 pounds, but he now has a better relationship with food. He explained how he used to eat his feelings and beat himself up over binge eating. Now, three years after vowing to make a change, he has done just that with the way he views food.
Traveling Man
Massey recently revealed that he would love to visit 30 countries by the time he turns 30, which would be in 2020. He shared some gorgeous pictures from his trip to Iceland in July. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
