On Days Of Our Lives, Rafe told Ciara that he and Hope were getting a divorce… and Hope seems equally resigned to moving on with her life. That seems…kind of defeatist, doesn’t it? Whatever happened to bucking the odds? Whatever happened to fighting for your love?
Should Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Rafe (Galen Garing) be doing everything they can to make their marriage work? How almost 15,000 fans voted:
Give Up the Ghost
Not worth it, 58% of you dismiss. Seriously, other than Ciara (Victoria Konefal) — and maybe Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes), but she runs hot and cold from one moment to the next — was anyone ever a fan of this couple?
Sure, Rafe beats Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) the wedding night killer. And if Hope can’t be with Bo (Peter Reckell), the love of her life, then no one is insisting she joins a nunnery. But Rafe was more of a place-holder, no? Someone to bring as a Plus One, someone to talk about the job with, someone to keep half the bed warm.
Were there ever any sparks there? Their congenial colleagues, friends, second choices (don’t tell us Rafe wouldn’t prefer Sami) is the opportunity came up. And, we know Hope is still in love with Bo. There’s nothing to fight for, here, no marriage worth saving.
Fight For Your Right To Pair Up!
Then again, 42% of the audience is still holding out Hope (ha, see what we did there?). These two crazy kids belong together, and they would be still if it weren’t for other people getting in the way.
Sami, Ted (Gilles Marini), they’re not real, they’re distractions. If Hope and Rafe could only take a breath and focus on each other, they’d see what they risk losing! Good thing Hope is newly unemployed…
