Do Fans Want JJ Punished For Theo’s Shooting on Days Of Our Lives (DOOL)?

In a Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) story ripped from the headlines, cop JJ shot an unarmed Theo. Though the latter was, in fact, breaking into a building and holding a scanner that looked like a gun.

JJ (Casey Moss) is already horrified by what he’s done. But should he be formally punished? Our readers do Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) job and call in Internal Affairs.

I’ll Have Your Badge For This!
JJ is not a bad guy, you concede. But he is a pretty damn bad cop. First, he pulled his gun on Ben during an investigation and now the incident with Theo (Kyler Pettis). Yes, Theo gave JJ reason to suspect him, but did he have to go directly for the most dire solution?

How is he ever going to learn if he isn’t punished now, wonder 81% of you. There is a procedure that needs to be followed here, and Hope better not ignore it the way she did the last time. JJ warrants no special treatment.

On the other hand, Abe (James Reynolds) being Theo’s dad doesn’t mean JJ should be treated more harshly than any other cop, either.

Clear And Present Danger
Meanwhile, 18% of you are more sympathetic to JJ’s cause. When a suspect to a break-in is pointing his gun at you, you don’t risk it — you shoot. JJ didn’t see that it was Theo, so he had to take the threat seriously. That’s not something he should be punished for. Any other cop would have done the same thing.

It’s a shame that Abe is on the warpath. He won’t be able to see matters clearly. Not when it comes to Theo, and not when it comes to Lani (Sal Stowers). Theo will likely survive. But will JJ and Lani’s relationship? Abe was never really a fan to begin with….

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
