They say you can’t go home again. Except that doesn’t seem to be the case on Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) this year.
Eve (Kassie DePaiva) returned to Salem – a merry (and planning to be very rich) widow. Anjelica (Morgan Fairchild) came back briefly. She had a plan to win Justin (Wally Kurth) back… and ended up dead for her trouble.
Of course, Will (Chandler Massey) came back from the actual dead, thinking he was Susan’s (Eileen Davidson) son. And now he’s dealing with the only slightly less unhinged Sami (Allison Sweeney), ready to do anything – and we mean, ANYTHING, to make him remember her.
That’s a lot of familiar faces to absorb in a few short months. Are fans feeling thrilled… or overwhelmed? Almost 10,000 toggled between both emotions:
Out With the New, In With the Old
If you’re going to see new faces in Salem, 52% of you prefer they be old new faces, if you know what we mean.
Sure, the canvas is crowded, but if favorites like Hope (Kristian Alfonso), Steve (Stephan Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), and Marlena (Deidre Hall) and John (Drake Hogysten) are going to see their screen-time diminished, you’d rather it be in favor of other old favorites, rather than newbies. Yes, we’re talking about you, Tripp (Lucas Adams).
Short Takes
Then again, 34% of you would be enjoying these returns a lot more if you didn’t know they were just short term. Don’t tease us with Sami reuniting to Rafe (Galen Garing), when we know she’s not scheduled to stick around!
Newer Is Always Better
Ugh. Sami AGAIN? Eve AGAIN? Susan AGAIN? These women have only one bag of tricks, pout 12% of the audience, and we’ve seen them all. Several times. How about some new blood to shake things up? Characters whose actions aren’t predictable? If we wanted reruns, we wouldn’t watch soaps!
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
