Brady and Victor get hit with a bombshell on Days of our Lives, when Eve resurfaces and announces her claim to the Kiriakis empire – as Deimos’ widow.
That’s right. The former money-grubbing hooker married the late Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) during her time away from Salem. And, as his heir, she’s wants her share of the family pie.
The Black Widow
“Eve (Kassie DePaiva) comes back and pretty much lays a bomb on Victor and Brady,” says Eric Martsolf (Brady). “She and Deimos were married. She is now his widow and has rights to a significant portion of the Kiriakis empire.”
The revelation “completely takes Victor and Brady off guard,” admits Martsolf. “Given Brady’s current condition with the events that surrounded Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and his unstable personality, right now, this just adds fuel to the fire for him.
“To think that this woman, Theresa’s (Jen Lilley) sister of all people, is going to come back and take more control away from him. This is just going to spin out of control really quickly.”
Battle On
From the business side of things, Brady is particularly perturbed. “Many times, when people are hurt personally, they throw themselves into their work,” explains Martsolf, noting that that had been Brady’s plan.
“Now he has this thorn in his side at the workplace. So not only did he lose the woman he loves (Nicole), but he’s also seemingly losing control of Basic Black, and he’s pretty pissed about it.”
So what Martsolf categorizes as a “civil” relationship between Brady and Eve, quickly begins to shift. “Things are going to go from okay between them to extremely bad in a very short amount of time.”
A Proposition…
Victor will play a huge part in stirring up the animosity, when he presents his grandson with a proposition.
“Victor asks Brady to get Eve out of their hair, out of their business, and out of their house,” recounts Martsolf. “Because Eve not only moves into their business world, but she also moves into the mansion. She makes herself very present and says, ‘Move over, bacon. There’s something leaner.’
And A Prize
“Victor tells Brady, ‘If you succeed in getting this horrific bitch out of our house and out of our lives, I will put great emphasis on promoting you to the CEO of Titan,” continues Martsolf.
“Brady’s been having an ongoing conflict with Sonny (Freddie Smith) over this. They’ve already had a power struggle that’s formulated within the household. This just fans the flames a bit. It gets Brady’s wheels turning. He definitely has a new focus on getting Eve the hell out of their lives.”
And attaining a coveted prize in the process — head of Titan. “Ron [Carlivati, Days of Our Lives head writer] has done a really good job at orchestrating the characters; setting the board up and moving the chess pieces around,” says Martsolf. “Everybody has a stake in the game, and it totally makes sense.”
