Eli and Lani don’t exactly have what you would call a storybook romance on Days of Our Lives. They were work colleagues who forged a bond when Eli secretly helped Lani through opioid withdrawals.
Then they had a one night stand when Lanie caught JJ (Casey Moss) – the man she was dating — lying in bed with his ex-girlfriend Gabi (Camila Banus).
The tryst resulted in a pregnancy and despite fighting their feelings for one another the duo decided to try and form a real romantic partnership. However, the baby was stillborn and Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey) would subsequently break up and make up countless times.
At the moment the two are most certainly on — and engaged following a Fourth of July proposal — but what do the fans think about the paring? Over 71% of you would happily welcome another helping of Eli and Lani. You think that having a new couple on the soap is a refreshing change of pace and there’s just something about this pairing that you love.

You also welcome any coupling that will unite the Horton and Carver families. The two clans have been friends for decades and matching Tom Horton’s great-great-grandson with Abe’s (James Reynolds) daughter is an inspiring move. And you also want to give the soap some kudos for having a strong African-American couple front and center.
Less Is More
However, over 28% of you think that Eli and Lani are given the perfect amount of screen time. Many of you voiced an opinion that with the DAYS cast as large as it is there shouldn’t be any extra time spent on just one couple.
