Drake Hogestyn Gets His Very First Instagram Lesson

You can’t help but love the character of John Black on Days of Our Lives, as he uses every technological thing available to him to solve a crime — but that doesn’t mean his portrayer Drake Hogestyn would necessarily know how to use it. In fact, the actor has been trying to conquer social media — and his daughter recently lent him a hand.

In an adorable video, Hogestyn’s daughter, Alex, introduces herself and her famous dad and explains that she’s trying to teach him how to do an Instagram Story and that this is his very first one.

For his part, the silver fox doesn’t seem nearly all that impressed with the technology. One thing is revealed though — don’t be too upset if you have followed the DAYS actor on social media and he hasn’t followed you back. It turns out — he didn’t follow his own daughter back that quickly either! And she was not happy about it.

But all’s well that ends well — because it looks like Hogestyn did finally do the right thing and follow his daughter back on the social media service. Not only that, she got a special thank you for helping him out — it’s a sweet moment that you can see below.

As for his TV alter ego, John Black, his child is also playing a huge role in his life as Brady (Eric Martsolf) needs his father’s wisdom thanks to Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) being back and alive, causing all sorts of romantic confusion. And what if Brady is not romantically confused?

Of course, John has seen Kristen at her worst — will he really have any words that Brady would want to hear — and heed? Could Brady really let Kristen back into his life? Not if John has anything to say about it. And that’s a fact!
