When Days of our Lives fans first met Gwen, she was Claire’s roommate in the loony bin. Gwen swore she wasn’t crazy, she was just hiding out from her boyfriend – he was the crazy one.
We later learned that the boyfriend was Jake (Brandon Barash). And he wasn’t crazy. But what we didn’t realize at the time (and likely neither Gwen nor Emily O’Brien did either), was that Gwen’s true ambition in life was to destroy Abigail (Marci Miller), for the crime of having had the father Gwen felt cheated out of.
Yup, that’s right: Gwen claims that Jack (Matthew Ashford) is the father who cast her and her mommy aside, and now Abigail must pay for that! Do you agree? Does Jack owe Gwen anything? We tallied almost 6,000 votes.
A winning 44% of the audience figure that Gwen going after innocent victim Abby nullifies any obligation Jack may have had to his alleged other daughter. If Gwen is going to scheme and try to hurt someone who had nothing to do with her sad-sack life, then Jack is equally as justified in turning his back on her for good.
Not to mention, 32% add, that Gwen tried to destroy Jack and Jennifer’s (Cady McClain) marriage. Jennifer didn’t do anything to Gwen, either. Maybe if she’d been a responsible adult and come to Jack with her claims, the whole family could have rallied around and accepted her. But not now.
Then again, 24% of you don’t care about any of the above. As far as you’re concerned, blood trumps any badly made decisions. Gwen is Jack’s daughter. He should have taken care of her all of her life. Since that didn’t happen, he better step up and pick up the slack now. No matter what she may have done. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
