The Doctor Is In: Will The Real Dr. Laura Help Gabigail on Days Of Our Lives (DOOL)?

There’s the Dr. Laura in the real world, and the one in the reel world (sometimes), on Days Of Our Lives (DOOL).

She’s Dr. Laura Horton (Jaime Lynn Bauer), mother of Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), and the now you see him/now you don’t, Mike.

(Pay no attention to the woman who looks suspiciously like her and is currently answering to the name of Lori Brooks on The Young and the Restless (YR). There’s more than one person in Salem who bears an uncanny resemblance to a Genoa City ex-citizen.)

Dr. Laura is a shrink. (And former long-time mental patient). And her granddaughter, Abby (Marci Miller)? Abby seriously needs a shrink. She (probably) killed Andre (Thaao Penghlis), and now thinks she’s Gabi (Camila Banus).

Help Is On the Way!
Abby needs someone who will help, not judge, and 89% of you believe Laura is just what the doctor ordered. She will understand how much pressure her granddaughter has been under, and how the crime she committed was a result of that.

She will also understand what it’s like to be a loving mother, whose mental illness can accidentally put her child in danger. (Ask Jen about the time her mother put her on a bus going out of state.) Laura will be there for Abby as both a professional, and as a devoted family member.

May I See Your License?
Uhm, 10% of the audience hedges, do we think maybe someone a bit more objective might be in order? After all, Abby already has Stefan (Tyler Christopher) to coddle and indulge her, and that’s not exactly helping.

Laura might be tempted to do the same thing, especially with Jen trying to pressure her. If Abby is going to get real help, she needs to get it from a real doctor, not her granny.
