Every year on December 24, the Horton family gathers to decorate their Christmas tree on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).

It’s a tradition that started when Tom (Macdonald Carey) and Alice (Frances Reid) were at the clan’s helm, and it’s continued for over 50 years with granddaughters Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) now hosting the annual event.

Each of the Hortons has a special ornament with their name on it that they hang on the tree, along with those of loved ones who have since passed away. It’s a special night to spend time with family and friends and reflect on Christmases past.

Soap Hub asked fans how they feel about the annual tree-trimming event and some 6,600 of you responded.

Yes, It’s One of My Favorite DAYS Traditions
As expected, the vast majority of fans, a whopping 90%, absolutely love the hanging of the Horton ornaments. It’s become one of your favorite DAYS traditions, and you look forward to the episode every Christmas Eve.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Having everyone gather at Tom and Alice’s home brings back wonderful memories of the past, as does seeing ornaments with the names of beloved Salemites who are no longer with us. And it totally puts you in a festive mood.

I’d Be Fine Without It
Bah Humbug! Some 10% of you aren’t really feeling the Horton holiday spirit, when the clan gathers to decorate their tree with their personalized ornaments. You’ve seen it year after year, decade after decade.

Seriously, it’s too many times to count. You really don’t care about it anymore and would be totally fine if DAYS never aired another Horton tree trimming again.

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
