We don’t think it was a coincidence that Tyler Christopher and Louise Sorel were spotted together in that Days of Our Lives video tweeted by Billy Flynn yesterday, confirming the pair arriving in Salem.
The more we thought about it, the more we realized they likely have a story together, so perhaps…Christopher will play Nicholas Alamain, the now-man Vivian raised on and off since birth.
When we first saw Nicholas back in 1993, he was played by Erik Von Detten and was about 10 years old.
Vivian (Louise Sorel) was known as Aunt Viv, and Lawrence (Michael Sabatino) and Carly (Crystal Chappell) believed he was the son of Viv’s late friend.
They soon learned this was the son Carly gave birth to, fathered by Viv’s nephew, Lawrence. The one she told Carly had died.
Nicholas did then spend some time being raised by his real folks, but returned as a young man in 1999, slightly SORAS’d and ready to help his aunt with yet another scheme.
The last we saw of the character was in 2011, and he was living with Carly and Melanie (Molly Burnett) in Europe. We saw Viv around the same time when she had moved to India.
It makes sense they would have somehow found each other again during this time and possibly cooked up a scheme to return to Salem together to cause trouble.
Christopher has the right look for the character, could be the same age depending on how old he is supposed to be now (what is age on a soap anyway?), and Head Writer Ron Carlivati did tweet he’d be playing an International Man Of Mystery. Nicholas is certainly that by now.
Plus, wouldn’t it be fun if Tyler Christopher switches soaps just to play ANOTHER character named Nicholas, although spelled slightly different. That could make this all the more fun.
