The DAYS spoilers recap for Monday, December 20, 2021, features the Devil gaining a partner in evil-doing, the spouses Johnson taking a firm stand, and Kate Roberts realizing just how broken her baby boy has become.

Color Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) confused. Is she still in her coma? Is she dead? Surely she’s not actually awake and in the presence of the Prince of Darkness…who just so happens to be inhabiting the body of her love rival’s mother.
And yet, the Devil is indeed in Dr. Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall); and he’s got an assignment for Jan – really stick it to those goody-two-shoes Shawn Douglas-Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison).
But how will they explain away Jan’s empty sickbed? Won’t that tip-off their prey? Have no fear, a glamoured Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) will make the perfect substitute…as long as no one notices that “Jan” is now sporting the bracelet that Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) gifted her fella.

Upon realizing that the Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) she’s got at letter-opener point is the real McCoy, Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) lowers her guard and joins her hubby in sussing out why the Devil KO’d her and stole her hospital ID. Despite some level-headed thinking, it clearly has nothing to do with Jan. She’s just lying there, in her coma, sporting a new piece of jewelry.

Kate (Lauren Koslow) began her day riding the “we hate Chloe Lane [Nadia Bjorlin] train” but quickly came to realize that, whoopsie daisy, maybe Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) was all kinds of wrong when it came to his girlfriend.
Turns out that Chloe didn’t sleep with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). So, maybe Brady doesn’t deserve to go to jail for a crime that he didn’t commit. And maybe Philip really does need some serious, psychiatric, help.
