Days of Our Lives fans will never believe their eyes when they learn Stefano is alive after all.
The late Joseph Mascolo will be on next week and make his last DAYS appearance on February 9. It will be the glorious ending we never expected to see of a three-decade run that made the actor and character television legends.
DAYS kept it a good secret that Mascolo taped scenes before his death in December and now we have one last blaze of glory with The Phoenix, who apparently rises once again.
According to the February 13 issue of Soap Opera Digest, Marlena (Deidre Hall) and the gang finally track him down in Prague at a masquerade ball.
It’s fitting that Marlena will be the one to discover Stefano in scenes that sound like the Lady of the Night story that morphed into Marlena’s devil possession in the 1990s.

While this should lead to Hope’s freedom, Soap Hub feels a bit let down. The scene where Hope (Kristian Alfonso) killed Stefano last year was one of the most memorable moments in modern soap history. It was a fitting ending for a character who had tormented this woman for decades, even holding her captive and planting the memories of another woman (Princess Gina) in her head.
Now, we will learn what we saw was all illusion, but we suppose that was always The Phoenix’s master trick.
