Bo found the love of his life when he reunited with Hope Williams – the trust-fund baby from the Tony part of town with whom he had shared a brief flirtation in his youth. Though considerably younger, Hope proved more than capable of holding her own and actually proved valuable on a number of undercover capers that Bo took part in.
After many twists and turns, the couple finally married on May 23, 1985, in a ceremony completely paid for by the British Royal Family – a small thank you for capturing a murder-minded political dissident. In the ensuing on-again/off-again years, they would welcome three children: Shawn-Douglas, Zack (who died tragically), and Ciara.
Paternity Shocker
Bo had longed believed himself to be the youngest child born to Caroline and Shawn Brady, an Irish-American couple who owned the town’s local fish market. So it came as quite a shock when his prim and proper mother revealed she’d given in to her carnal desire for career criminal Victor Kiriakis and that Bo was the product of their affair.
Bo tried to forge a relationship with Victor – he even moved himself and his new bride Hope into the Kiriakis mansion – but his continued involvement in organized crime soured Bo’s feelings and he continued to consider Shawn his only real father.
Lady Friends
Despite the fact that Hope was the love of his life, when Bo feared her dead – the victim of a madman’s sinister magic trick – he did find himself entangled with other women. First, he became entranced by Carly Manning (the pseudonym of aristocrat Katerina Von Leuschner) and the two exchanged “spiritual vows” atop a Mayan pyramid.
Though that relationship eventually went nowhere, he did nearly make it to the alter with Billie Reed. But that pairing fizzled when – joy of joys – Hope reappeared in Salem (although she had a nasty case of amnesia). Years later, Bo learned that a child he and Billie believed had been stillborn was alive, going by the name of Chelsea.
Bitter End
Bo was held hostage by a man out to discover the truth about a super-secret formula that only Bo knew. His captivity dragged on for three years and by the time he managed to escape and reunite with Hope, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. On November 20, 2015, he passed away peacefully and in the arms of the woman he loved.
