On November 8, Days of Our Lives (DOOL) will be celebrating 52 years on the air, and to honor that, a wonderful tribute made for the 50th anniversary has been updated with 15 minutes of additional footage.
The video takes the viewer through the creation of the show, from the proposal written by the legendary Irna Phillips, Ted Corday (father of current executive producer, Ken Corday), and Allan Chase, through casting choices, until it first made it to air on November 8, 1965. And then the real fun begins.
You will learn little tidbits — like the fact another actress shot the pilot as Alice Horton and then it had to be reshot with Frances Reid, who would go on to play the role until her death in 2010.
In addition to reliving some of your favorite memories through pictures, you’ll also see a tribute to members of the staff, cast, and crew who have passed, including a mini tribute to Joe Mascolo (Stefano), who passed away December 7, 2016.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
