Days of our Lives Time Jump Proves To Be A Ratings Winner

The coveted demographic of women viewers aged 18 to 49, abbreviated as W18-49, is the one most sought-after among network executives in terms of TV audiences. And now, Days of our Lives reached a big moment in that demo.

According to the latest ratings, Days of our Lives came in second in the W18-49 demo for the week ending last Sunday, December 15 with a 0.42 rating. The Young and the Restless came in first (0.44), while The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital tied for third (0.40).

What was going on last week in Salem that captured audiences? JJ (Casey Moss) was confronting Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) over Haley’s (Thia Megia) death. Abigail (Kate Mansi) brought Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) back to the scene of her fall, hoping to jog her mom’s memory. Justin (Wally Kurth) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) moved in together. Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) received the news about Mickey’s health. Also, Xander (Paul Telfer) grew suspicious of Ciara (Victoria Konefal).

Apparently, the show embarking on the much-publicized time jump in which Jennifer was in a coma for a year and, after coming to, she and the viewers learned (and continue to learn) bit by bit what has occurred over the last year.

A sizzle reel showing highlights of the time jump was shown to thousands of DAYS fans who were at Universal CityWalk in November at the annual Day of DAYS event. The reel was received enthusiastically. That enthusiasm has paid off in ratings now that DAYS has enjoyed a jump.

For several weeks earlier this year, BB took the top spot in the W18-49 demo. Now, DAYS is making a run for it. The battle for eyeballs has never been greater given the number of options viewers have these days.
