Theresa is Soon a DAYS Goner– But How Will It Happen??

November is here, which means the time is drawing near to say goodbye to Jen Lilley as Theresa on Days of Our Lives.

Thanks to the show’s way-in-advance taping schedule, we’ve known for months that Lilley would exit her popular role, but exactly how that would happen has obviously been kept under wraps.

There was a clue it wouldn’t be a happy ending during the infamous Twitter war Ugly Cry Olympic competition between Lilley and Billy Flynn (Chad). The actress tweeted she would take back the top spot, which Flynn earned during Abigail’s “death” on the show, come November. The actress also shared a touching photo on Instagram, alluding to her exit being “heart breaking.”

What We Know
Here’s what we do know, thanks to a quick visit from her father, Shane (Charles Shaughnessy). Theresa used to be involved with a very dangerous man down in Mexico named Mateo. Dangerous Dude then showed up when Theresa was in the park and let her know he does indeed want her back in Mexico with him. Shane offered a safe house for his daughter and her family, but Theresa is also worried about forcing a life-on-the-run onto her family, especially poor little Tate.

 

Her Options
Theresa obviously loves her current life with Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Tate and wouldn’t ever want to walk away from it unless she has to.

In order to escape Mateo’s offer-she-can’t-refuse, she will need to go into hiding — either alone, or with Brady and Tate. But those aren’t her only options. She could also confess all to Brady, and perhaps get Shane and the Salem Police Department (or the Kiriakis family) to help her escape Mateo. Of course, we know the actress is leaving regardless, so that last option could lead to her being killed by the crime lord.

What We Think Might Happen
The key clue is that she will be crying a lot this month–according to Lilley’s social media posts. She could cry during a confession to Brady and probably will — but that wouldn’t last all that long. Of course, if Brady doesn’t take it well, that could prolong things as she works to get him back.

Or, what if Mateo kidnaps her? That could bring a lot of tears, especially if someone else is with her like Brady or Tate. Either way, there will be a lot of tears, a lot of drama, and a lot of sadness as Theresa leaves Salem — one way or another.
