Days of our Lives’ Tamara Braun Reacts To COVID Test on Way to Set

With all the recent exits of popular Days of our Lives characters, it’s nice to report that Tamara Braun is back on set filming her return as mob princess, Ava Vitali.

Tamara Braun Is Ready For Salem

The Daytime Emmy-winning actress posted a video of her return to the set on Instagram. Sitting as a passenger in a car, Braun talks about getting her first nasal swab, and her feelings on the COVID-19 test.

“Does anyone enjoy it, ’cause I did not,” she laughs in the video, though knows that it’s vital to keep the cast and crew on DAYS safe.

In her post, the actress expressed her gratefulness to be back on the show and all of DAYS’ efforts on keeping the cameras rolling during the pandemic.

“This was yesterday. Thank you #Days for making my first day back a joy,” Braun wrote. “The protocols @nbcdays have in place are incredible. They go above and beyond to keep us safe.”

It’s expected that Braun’s first scenes will begin airing before the close of the year, though what brings Ava back to Salem is still a mystery.

Ava Vitali was introduced to viewers in the summer of 2008 when it was revealed she was the daughter of a mob boss who had a long history with Steve (Stephen Nichols). In fact, they shared a son— Tripp—he never even knew about.

Her misdeeds were plenty during her run on the show. She sabotaged a plane that was responsible for the death of Shawn Brady, she kidnapped Hope (though she was being drugged by her dad at the time and didn’t know what she was doing).

The character returned in 2015 and caused havoc again. She kidnapped Kayla, lied about having leukemia, and blackmailed Steve into sleeping with her.

Maybe this return will see a softer side of Ava, especially since she’ll be onscreen with her son for the first time.

Braun has had quite the daytime career, memorably playing Carly on General Hospital (as well as Dr. Kim Nero on the same show years later!), and even popping up in Salem as a second distinct character, Nicole’s sister Taylor, a few years after Ava first exited the canvas. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
