Bo Brady and Steve “Patch” Johnson are two of the most iconic characters ever on Days of our Lives, and actors Peter Reckell and Stephen Nichols created quite the deep history between the pair.
Stephen Nichols Sends Well Wishes To Peter Reckell
Fans will be happy to know that even though Reckell left the show several years ago when Bo passed away, he’s not forgotten by his former onscreen friend. On Twitter, Nichols sent an anniversary greeting to Reckell and his wife Kelly Moneymaker, who were married on April 18, 1998.
“Happy Anniversary Pete and Kelly,” Nichols wrote. Reckell, who posts on social media sparingly, saw the message and was quick to respond.
“Thanks! Hope you and family are well!!” he wrote back to Nichols.
Now living in New Zealand, Reckell also recently thanked the hordes of fans who sent him and his wife well wishes on their special day.
“Thanks for all the anniversary wishes!” he posted on Twitter last week. “It’s been an amazing journey we’ve been on and I’m looking forward to many more years with my incredible, talented, beautiful, funny, partner in life.”
And Nichols isn’t the only former castmate he’s connecting with on the social media site. Wally Kurth (Justin) asked Reckell where a photo he and Moneymaker were in was taken, and Reckell replied earlier today that it was in “Beautiful Wellington NZ!” and sent “cheers” to his friend.
Longtime viewers know that Bo and Steve have had quite an up-and-down relationship through the years. They served in the Merchant Marines together and were best friends until Britta came into the picture and caused a rift between the duo. The love triangle became so intense, that a knife fight occurred, resulting in Bo accidentally causing Steve to lose his eye — thus the nickname Patch was born.
Years later, when Patch showed up in Salem, he was a goon, working for Victor Kiriakis and his hatred for Bo was evident in his actions. But he would eventually fall for Bo’s sister Kayla, and despite Bo’s warnings, the two fell in love. Bo and Steve would mend fences and embark on adventures together, and eventually, their friendship was as strong as ever. Steve would even save Bo’s life a couple of times.
Fans would love nothing more than to see Bo Brady miraculously arrive back in Salem and share screen time with his BFF again. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
