Days of Our Lives Stars Share Their Favorite 2017 Storylines — Part I

Another year of Days of Our Lives (DOOL) is coming to a close, which means it’s time for the cast to weigh in on the storylines they felt were tops.

For some actors, love and romance were key. For others, powerful drama and comedic turns stood out as their most memorable moments. Here’s what DAYS actors had to say about their favorite storylines of 2017.

Kristian Alfonso (Hope)
“I can tell you a scene that was a favorite. It was during the halo story, when Rafe proposed to Hope after they were drugged. The director had us sitting on a bench, and I thought, ‘No. This is so off for Hope and Rafe. We need some freedom.’

“We ended up sitting on the ground all dressed up. Then, we kissed and fell on top of each other, while there were people walking by. It was fun.”

Galen Gering (Rafe)
“The whole threaded storyline from Hope not wanting to marry Rafe to her breaking up with him to Rafe being with Sami [Alison Sweeney], a woman who did marry him and all of a sudden wanted to be with him again. It all made sense, and I loved that about it. And how do Hope and Rafe, hopefully, find their way back to one another.”

Deidre Hall (Marlena/Hattie)
“I loved playing with Judi Evans in the whole Hattie and Bonnie thing. I love Hattie, so that was great fun. I got to break out of what I do on a regular basis. It let me be a little more combative and combustible, and that was fun for me.”

Drake Hogestyn (John)
“I liked the fantasy kiss in the insane asylum. They even gave us a little hand sex through the vent. Deidre [Hall, Marlena] and I did a lot with that. It was nice. We can do a whole lot with a little.”

Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie)
“Learning Julie had a grandson was my favorite thing to get to play. It was all so connected and organic. It was fulfilling, although I was sorry to lose the presence of my son, David. But the Eli (Lamon Archie) character almost takes the place of that, because he’s a mature man with mature problems.”

Marci Miller (Abigail)
“Chad and Abby coming together, having them overcome all the obstacles they had to overcome to get to their wedding. Whatever’s going on with Chad and Abby is where my heart is.”

Tomorrow evening, look for Part II with more actors sharing their favorite stories.
