Climate-change and the water crisis have taken center stage in many political debates but Days of our Lives star Sal Stowers has traveled the world and wants to put a human face on the story… and bring home what others are experiencing.

Sal Stowers Speaks Out

The gorgeous actress shared some pictures on Instagram with an impassioned plea. While most of her followers know about her commitment to working out, she uses that as a springboard to make it easier to understand the crisis facing much of the world.

“A different kind of workout. If you’ve been following my journey, you know that I am deeply passionate about the work of World Vision. I had the wonderful opportunity this past summer to travel to Zambia with World Vision and see their work in person. That trip for me was life changing….

“So I thought that I would use a Jerry Can in my workout today to bring awareness to the water crisis around the world and how World Vision’s water program is changing the lives of some many by giving them access to fresh clean water,” she wrote.

A Special Kind of Workout

The actress used the can to make a point — with several videos in which she shows the difficulty others are facing. “Using a Jerry Can in my workout was important for me because knowing that children are kept out of school because they have to walk to get water and most times that water is dirty and contaminated…..that just breaks my heart and it’s not ok! I got to witness this first hand.

“No family should have to endure this. Water is taken for granted every day along with so much more. If I can do anything to bring change to this, well that will be my life’s mission.” You can see Stowers’ post below, with the various videos that help make her point. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.

If I can do anything to bring change to this, well that will be my life’s mission. To Love and Serve the world around me through all that I do. I didn’t not edit these video’s I kept it raw because I wanted you guys to see the real struggle of how heavy that Jerry Can is. It’s HEAVY!! 53lbs full of Water to be exact. You guys know how hard I workout and this was not easy for me, not one second of it. I felt so many emotions, I cried and got so frustrated and angry knowing that some many vulnerable communities around the world have to endure carry this can to get water. They don’t have a choice, we do.🙏🏽♥️ ….Here are a few facts about @worldvisionusa Water Program : * 6 kilometers is the average distance people – usually women and girls – walk to get water in the developing world * Usually, the walk to get water is dangerous and the water isn’t clean * Clean water can help children survive diseases and stay in school, opening the door to a bright future * World Vision provides a new person with clean water every 10 seconds! * In 2018, World Vision provide 4 million people with clean water!
