Allie on Days of Our Lives has a twin sibling in Johnny and in real-life, her portrayer, Lindsay Arnold has a “double” as well! The actress shares the same name as one of the Dancing With the Stars pros named (what else?) Lindsay Arnold!
Lindsay Arnold: A Case Of Mistaken Identity
At a recent press conference, Soap Hub asked the DAYS newcomer how often she’s mistaken for the DWTS pro dancer. “Actually, numerous times a week,” Arnold responded. “I had to call in recently somewhere [about] getting testing done [for COVID] and a person I was talking to asked if I were from Dancing with the Stars. I said no.”
Another time, Arnold had to call into a performer’s union because she’d been mistaken for the other Arnold. “It’s so funny,” she says. “People have told me, ‘I loved your [dance] performance this week!'” Her response? “Thanks, guys!”
The NBC soap actress says she has yet to meet either in person or virtually the ABC reality-competition series dance pro, but she’d like to! “I should reach out and say, ‘Let’s talk! I’m getting confused for you all the time!'”
Would Arnold ever like to compete on Dancing With the Stars as many soap opera stars including Kelly Monaco (Sam, General Hospital) and Susan Lucci (ex-Eric, All My Children) have done. “Maybe,” she responds. “I did dance through high school. It could be interesting. Yeah, I’d be open for it!”
Arnold says her DAYS character name has a “twin” or rather, sound-alike, too, in her TV mom Alison Sweeney (Sami), known to many as “Ali.’ The DAYS stage manager will call for “Ali” (or is it “Allie”?) to come to the set. Arnold’s not sure who’s being summoned to report to work! “It can be super-confusing,” she says. “They’ll call over the loudspeaker [my name] to the set. I’ll have to think and remember if Ali is working that day.” Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for airtimes.
