Actors from daytime have been fielding questions and squashing rumors since the internet’s inception. Recently, Days of Our Lives star Kristian Alfonso answered a devotee’s inquiry about her first airdate on a rival serial.
Kristian Alfonso Clears Things Up
“Lol [Sorry] to disappoint but I don’t have any plans to join Y&R 🙂 or General Hospital or B&B,” Alfonso tweeted to @marylovesrafael.
And that’s not because she doesn’t think all three are terrific serials! “[A]ll amazing well done, creative shows,” Alfonso added.
“That’s too bad,” said Marilena0207, “any of these shows would be lucky to have you!! You’ve left a huge void on Days and I’ve stopped watching, just not the same anymore!! Hope to see you somewhere soon!!”
“You’d be a gift to any show!!” enthused @scottbuergcool. “Please incorporate the Hope eyebrow raise to any character!!” (This isn’t an outlandish request. As Falcon Crest fans recall, Alfonso raised her eyebrow in the opening credits of the final season of the nighttime serial.)
Now, we haven’t heard anything about Alfonso’s future plans (except her upcoming role on a Hallmark movie alongside DAYS pal Alison Sweeney, who plays Sami), but the actress is saying she has no plans to join YR, GH, or BB. Guess which show that leaves? DAYS! The actress has said in the past that she’s not interested in dropping in and out of Salem.
Still, many stars have returned to DAYS after being away over the years. Some have come back after a short time away like Galen Gering (Rafe), who had a brief absence from the show earlier this year. Others, like Stephen Nichols (Steve) and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla), have been away from Salem for years and years only to eventually come home.
Might Alfonso do the same? Of course, in an ideal world, she’d return along with leading man Peter Reckell (ex-Bo), who made his Salem comeback five years ago only to die on-camera. Keep in mind that this has never stopped anyone before from reprising his or her role on the NBC serial.
Soap Hub will keep viewers updated on Alfonso’s next professional move as details become available. In the meantime, stay tuned to DAYS! Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for airtimes.
