Emmy-winner Kate Mansi, who plays Abigail on Days of our Lives, has come and gone from Salem over the years. Now, according to published reports, the actress is changing her status with the NBC soap once again.
Kate Mansi Leaves Abby Behind Again
According to the May 11, 2020, issue of Soap Opera Digest, Mansi is wrapping up her return visit later this month.
No specific final air date has been given so viewers will want to tune in each day in order to check out how Mansi’s exit will be handled. Mansi first came to DAYS as Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer’s (Melissa Reeves) daughter in 2011. She left the show the first time five years later in 2016.
Marci Miller took over the role later that year and played it until 2018. Mansi wrapped up Abby’s run after Miller left and then turned up as Abigail on Chad and Abby in Paris, a limited series that was released on the DOOL App. After that series ended, Chad (Billy M. Flynn) and Abby returned to Salem.
Mansi won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role as Abby in 2017. In 2019, Mansi was nominated in the category of Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series for playing Abby.
Also, on the DOOL App, you can check out the series From On-Stage to Behind-The-Scenes with Kate Mansi, which features the actress’s journey into the world of directing where she learns from Emmy-winning DAYS director Sonia Blangiardo-Goins.
Eagle-eyed viewers suspected that Mansi’s turn in Salem might be for a limited run this time after the actress did not attend last year’s Day of DAYS fan event held at Universal City Walk in November.
In addition to coming and going from Salem, Mansi has stayed busy shooting a variety of other projects, too. They include the TV movies Mommy Group Murder, Maternal Secrets, Boyfriend Killer, and Unwanted Guest. Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
