Days of our Lives star Judi Evans is paired with Wally Kurth now as Justin’s bride Bonnie. But as veteran DAYS fans recall, the two spent their first few decades together as Justin and Adrienne. Recently, Evans paid tribute to the couple’s first meeting on social media.
Judi Evans Recalls Justin and Bonnie
“Thirty-five years ago today, a man came upon a broken woman & changed her life forever,” Judi Evans posted along with a clip of Justin and Adrienne‘s first meeting on DAYS. “Thank you to my scene partner, @wallykurth, for years of Greece trips, paper-mâché boats, hankies, buildings/barns falling on us, raising 4 boys, and all the laughs & love! #Jadrienne #BonnieandJustin.”
From Springfield Back To Salem
Soap Hub chatted with Evans about this romantic milestone in which Justin and Adrienne began, eventually joining the pantheon of DAYS supercouples. “I was so happy to have joined DAYS,” Evans recalls. The actress first came to Salem in late 1986 after a three-year run as Beth Raines on Guiding Light. “It’s such a great group of people here — then and now,” Evans adds. “These were Wally’s and my first scenes together and I believe there was — and is — something so special about Wally. It’s not just nostalgia. There was a magical feeling to what we were doing and what we’re still doing today.”

Judi Evans and Wally Kurth Didn’t End When Adrienne Died
Sadly, Adrienne died after sustaining injuries in a car wreck but Kurth and Evans’ screen-time together continues as Justin and Bonnie are now husband and wife. Evans has been absent from social media but supportive pals have suggested she get back on it and the actress felt that the anniversary of Justin and Adrienne’s first scene was just the time to get back in the game. “I’m on very sporadically on social media,” Evans says. “Friends have encouraged me to come back so, I’m putting my toe in!”
Judi Evans has many anniversaries with DAYS. Some folks know that Adrienne wasn’t her first role on the show. Back in 1983, before she moved to New York to play GL’s Beth, Evans played Becky, a nurse friend of Tristan Evans (Barbara Crampton). Twitter account ‘ThoseWereTheDAYS’ took some screen grabs of Evans as Becky and posted them online. (April 1, 1983, was also the day Mickey came back from the dead and was reunited with Maggie, who’d moved on with Don!) Check out the tweets below to take a look back at both Adrienne and Becky!
