Days of our Lives Star Jackée Harry Joins Freeform Comedy Pilot

Days of our Lives fans have been loving the character of Paulina Price ever since soap and sitcom vet Jackée Harry joined the show earlier this year.

Jackée Harry Cast In New Pilot

Paulina brings lots of good feelings and has given Abe Carver (James Reynolds) something to smile about lately. That’s why the news that Harry has booked a new pilot might be a little hard to hear for many.

According to Variety, Harry and actor George Wallace have both been cast in recurring roles in the upcoming Freeform pilot, Everything’s Trash, alongside series star Phoebe Robinson.

The comedy revolves around Phoebe, a 30-something podcast star trying to get by her “messy” life. When Jayden, her younger brother, launches a political bid, Phoebe is forced to grow up and live life more as an adult. The show is inspired by Robinson’s book, “Everything’s Trash But It’s Okay.”

Harry is set to play Phoebe’s mom, Zora. The character is described as a “mid-Western transplant who [has] made a home in New York.” And though she and her husband Frederick (played by Wallace) support both their kids equally, Zora acts more like Phoebe’s sister than her mom. Frederick, meanwhile, worries that his daughter’s ne’er-do-well ways could be trouble for his son, and tries to set her right.

Having won an Emmy for her portrayal of the feisty Sandra Clark on 227, and with a rich history on sitcoms, including starring in Sister Sister and appearing on shows such as Everybody Hates Chris, The First Family, and The Paynes, Harry is a sitcom legend and should be right in her element on her new show.

Being that the part is recurring and most Freeform shows don’t run more than a dozen episodes, there’s a good chance that even if the show makes it to series that Harry won’t have to depart Salem and her fan-favorite role.

This comes on the heels of the news that she’s on contract at DAYS, where she surely has “outs” to do roles like this. Here’s hoping we see plenty of Paulina in the years ahead in Salem — as well as Jackée Harry in as many places her star is able to shine. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
