Things are really heating up on Days of our Lives as Camila Banus and her alter ego, Gabi, takes Salem by storm, leaving no prisoners in the wake of Stefan’s devasting death. Gabi is ready to make everyone pay and there’s no denying that Banus is slaying it on all fronts — but there is one area of concern.
Camila Banus Speaks Out
While it’s unclear what led up to the actress’s recent post on Twitter, what does seem to be clear is that some fans are taking things a bit too far with their complaining about what is appearing on the screen. The actress posted the following:
“Just a quick reminder: I WORK ON A TELEVISION SHOW. It’s all made up and we actually play pretend every day. I do not write stories on my own or live as my character,” she said Thursday morning.
Love In Jeopardy
Sounds like it could be the Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey) fans who may be upset that Gabi’s revenge plot against the woman who accidentally killed her husband may cause Lani to break Eli’s heart. While fans can get awfully passionate about their favorite couples, it’s true that Banus is just playing a role on Days of Our Lives — not writing it.
But the writing has created an incredible turn in Gabi over this past year, forcing her to shed her sweet self and embrace her dark side, which Banus discusses in her most recent Instagram post, writing, “Sweet Gabriela Josefina Hernandez is DEAD…that’s Mrs.Dimera to you ! #blackwidow #dimerawidow #paybackisabitch #gabichic #guessjumpsuit #guessdenim #dool #daysofourlives #daysofourgabi #gabidimera”
Watch Out For Mrs. DiMera!
Mrs. DiMera indeed — and Banus is playing the heck out of her character crossing over to the dark side. Those of us at Soap Hub can’t wait to see what happens next. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
Just a quick reminder: I WORK ON A TELEVISION SHOW. It’s all made up and we actually play pretend everyday. I do not write stories on my own or live as my character. 💃🏻❤️🎬🎥
