Bryan Dattilo Days of Our Lives
In a case of life imitating art, Bryan Dattilo has become a grandfather this year both on and off-screen. The Days of Our Lives star, who plays Lucas, became a granddad again after his daughter Allie gave birth to son Henry on the show. (He already has a granddaughter, Ariana.)
The fan-favorite actor also became a granddad in real-life. He recently shared on Instagram the latest addition to the Dattilo family. “My grandson Alexander Gabriel Dattilo,” the DAYS veteran posted appearing in a photo with his son, Gabriel, the newborn’s dad, and the rest of his family. “So proud of my family. Merry Christmas and happy new year.”
Dattilo’s DAYS co-stars, friends, and followers weighed in with congratulatory posts. “Aww Congratulations!” shared Kristian Alfonso (ex-Hope). Added Eric Martsolf (Brady): Congrats.”
“Oh my gosh. Grandchild? Wow. You too young to be Grandpap. Beautiful pic!!” posted @willasue26. Added @twoselfs: “Congratulations Bryan. With grandkids, you never knew your heart could be so full.”
Veteran DAYS fans recall Dattilo made the scene back in 1993 as Lucas, fresh out of military school, who came to Salem to join his mother Kate (then, Deborah Adair; now, Lauren Koslow).
The young actor became part of the show’s then-newest young set along with Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin), Christie Clark (ex-Carrie), and Sami (Alison Sweeney). Later, it was revealed that he was the son of Bill Horton (Chris Stone), making him a legacy character.
Lucas shares two children with Sami — a son, Will (Chandler Massey), and a daughter, Allie (Lindsay Arnold). The actor was recently put back on contract at the NBC soap. There’s talk of a big storyline coming up later this winter as Sweeney returns to the show on a more permanent basis.
Over the years, Lucas has been involved with tons of drama including shooting Franco (Victor Alfieri) and letting Sami take the blame. He came clean at the last minute, preventing Sami from being executed by lethal injection. What’s going to happen next for Lucas? Stay tuned to find out!
